Mark Ross - Printmaker

For more than forty years, Mark Ross has made Sonoma County his home, drawing inspiration from its natural beauty. His landscapes, still life’s, and animal-themed works reflect a deep connection to the region and a keen eye for detail.

As a full-time veterinarian, Mark’s artistic endeavors are mostly limited to printmaking. As time allows, he enjoys watercolor and oil painting. Specializing in printmaking, Mark works primarily in woodcuts, linocuts, and etchings. He has studied with accomplished local printmakers and illustrators, honing his skills in carving, inking, and composition. Rich colors and balanced design are key elements of his prints, creating a sense of harmony.

Mark’s work has been exhibited locally in regional print shows and galleries and throughout California. He is proud to say he has an oil painting hanging in Italy from a recent painting workshop in Venice. Through his prints, he continues to share his vision of the beauty of the world around us.

“With each print I learn something new.  I use drawing and painting to varying degrees in the development of each print.  Composition and color are key elements.  I call it “The Poetry of Line and Color”.
