Printmaking gives me the same sense of accomplishment.  It is a process.  Etching and burnishing a plate or carving and inking a wood block are steps in a process that challenge my creativity.  The anticipation when the first print is pulled will always be a thrill.  At times the first proof is a let down, but let downs end up being yet another step in the process.
